If you’re in the mood for a treat that’s out of this world or something a little on the darker side try Little Damage ice cream shop, Located in DTLA, one of the most diverse cities in America, Little Damage is a small family owned business that draws its inspiration from the rich cultural fabric that makes Los Angel

es special. If you’re thinking that this is just a boring old ice cream shop then you’re in for a real treat. Not only are their recipes handcrafted and slow churned but they also rotate their flavors seasonally. If you’re worried that you won’t remember your experience then stop by their free photo booth on your way out.

img_5735If sweets aren’t your style and nature is then why not hike up to the observatory located on the highest point of the Macarthur Park mountain range. Along the way, you can see the Hollywood sign and the Hollywood hills. There are lots of scenic views along the way and there’s even a park located in the valley just beneath the observatory.

If what you’re looking for is more on the romantic side of things. Then why not bring along a picnic basket and a bottle of wine to the plaza in front of the observatory.

#3)

tar-pitsIf you’re looking for something a bit more adventurous then stop by the Le Brea Tar Pits. They are located on ancient Tribal lands and they have an interesting museum. The museum is perfect for anyone wanting to learn more about all that the site has uncovered from thousands of years buried away. From huge skeletons from the dinosaurs to fauna and flora from the Paleolithic to the last glacial era. The park is known for producing myriad mammal fossils dating from the last glacial period. While mammal fossils generate significant interest, other fossils, including fossilized insects and plants, and even pollen grains, are also valued. If you get thirsty while you’re there then why don’t you stop by any of the surrounding cafes for a bit of a Nash.

#4)

If what you’re into is cheap but extremely out of the box romance then I would take the trip to the Expo Park Rose Garden. This particular garden is interesting in and of itself however what makes it romantic is that it’s like wandering into a

garden straight out of an old-fashioned love story. If you’re one of those Brainy romantics then you and your date should really enjoy all of the museums that surround the rose garden. From the history museum to the museum of aviation. The rose garden has a little bit of something for everyone including some food for when youget hungry.

Never Waste Money On Drinks At A Festival

Unless you have friends that work at the bar in the festival and you’re able to get special discounts, then don’t attempt to drink when you’re at a festival! I was at LA Pride this weekend and I was ready to turn up. I didn’t pay for a ticket and I was given another ticket that was only good for coming in and not returning. Therefore, I had to chose rather to party inside or leave and party outside. At the time, I thought that the party was going on inside the festival but little did I know that the party was actually outside at the bars. I spent $50 on alcohol and did not get even tipsy!

You have to understand my frustration with this given the fact that I try to be really frugal with my money. I figured, yes drinks are going to be a lot more expensive at the festival, but, at least I’ll have a buzz! I was so fucking wrong! I basically paid $50 for watered down juice.

I swear to God, I wanted to turn back around to the bartender and slap him right in his face. I wasted so much money for no reason at all. So, DOnt even waste your time trying to get drunk at a festival unless your privileged in any type of way that it would not be an expense for you!

A HERMES BAG IS A BETTER INVESTMENT THAN STOCKS OR GOLD!

This is the most exciting news since the military diet said that we can eat ice cream for dinner. The fact that a Birkin can be a better investment than stick or gold is actually not as surprising as I though it would be.

It has been popular since its first creation in 1981. The Birkin was conceived after a famous actress by the name of Jane Birkin who complained to her passenger on the plain  that she couldn’t find a good weekend bag with good leather to enough pockets. Little did she know she was sitting next to Hermes’ boss Jean-Louis Dumas.

The Hermes bag has out grew the S&J by 14%. The theory is that because it is such a desirable item and is used as a token of wealth, the value could not diminish. They only make a couple of the bag every six years and they do not advertise them. So, if you happen to get your hands on one of them, then maybe you have yourself an investment. This commenter is surely indecisive on what he should do.

Would you invest in a Birkin?

How To Look Like Money Without Breaking The Bank!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m going to be brutally honest with you, Michael Kors is so overrated. Everybody and their mom’s mom walk around with those things and Louis Vuitton is right along with them. In today’s society, you have to look like money, without trying. If your caught trying, your look like a wannabe and could be potentially embarrassed. Im talking about those people that walk around with “high quality replicas.” Thats the most disrespectful thing you can do to not only the designer, but your integrity. Your basically saying that your not worth such luxurious things.

There are three things I say are needed to make you look like money and that is quality, the usage of the product, and the way it make you feel. You can buy an expensive hand bag and it can be of low quality. And you can find something for a lower price and the quality is really nice. Its all about bargain shopping.  As for the usage of the product, you do not want to be wearing something that everyone in your friends circle have. There are a few exceptions to this rule but if you catch your self shopping at the grove, and you see more than three people wearing that same monogram Louis Vuitton that you have on your shoulder, you have to ditch that one and find another bag. Last but not least is the way the product make you feel. If your going to spend your hard worked money on something, make sure that it make you feel like a million bucks. When I wear my makeup, I feel like I can conquer the day.

Shopping On A Budget: Groceries

shopping-cart-full-of-groceriesTerrance gives me $20 this morning and told me to get some groceries.

In my head Im thinking that I would not be able to get anything with $20. I sit back and I just continue filling out my job application to Sephora. This is not the first time I had to go grocery shopping with $20. In fact, I remember when my mother use to give me that same amount of money to go get some food that can last for two days and feed seven people. Of course back then I was a little more consious of spending cause it wasn’t my money and if I had spent more than what was said, I was in for a hard talking to.

So why is it so difficult to shop with $20 now?

Well, lest not forget the fact that I am in a whole different state and even when I was living in New York, grocery shopping there was totally impossible with even $100. I have also lost my damn mind when it comes to spending money, so Terrance has to step in time to time to limit my spending habits. But I wanted today to be different.

So, my goal was to spend $15 of the money that he had given me for groceries and also get enough food that could last for at least a week; because I don’t get paid until Friday. My conclusion, Sandwiches, BAM! It sucks because we won’t necessarily have breakfast or dinner food but hey sandwiches are ok.

Now I though I was going to spend the whole $15 on just sandwiches I actually spent like a little under $11 for that stuff. Unfortunately, I had a big problem with choosing which cheese I wanted to purchase that had a good quality case with the biggest savings point. We usually get the Kraft American Cheese slices, however, that was going for $4.49 and that was just too much for one pack of cheese. They did have a 2 for $5 deal but that would be too much cheese for just one week. I look on the left and I see a church by another company that was $2.75 and Velveta cheese slices for $3.99. I wanted to get the cheaper one but I had never heard of the company before and was afraid that it would be one of those plastic cheeses that take 20 minutes to melt in the microwave. The other cheese, Velveta looked good and I know them because of their awesome and cheesy macaroni & cheese. But it was $3.99. I ended up getting the cheaper cheese and honestly, I would have to wait to see what Terrance would think of it. He is really picky when it comes to cheese and everything else. But I have a feeling that the cheese would be ok.

I because I was under the $15 threshold I decided to get some noodles that was on a cool sale. It was 4 for $.99 and I was not going to turn that down. Because I was still under budget I treated my self with some candy.

Ok!

I ended up spending $16.82. Yes the candy took me over budget but it went much.

What is Wealth?

I had a friend in elementary school who always looked fabulous. He always had the newest and trendiest things and I was secretly jealous of him. I was born into a family that did not have much but enough to live. Everyday I would go home and ask my mom or my grandmother for things that I thought that if I had it would make me look cool. How foolish of me then. The older I became, the more I began to realize that my family was broke and we only had enough for the necessities. The wants were not important, and I slowly began to understand why and I began to stop asking for expensive things. However, when Christmas came around,  I had a feeling that I would be able to get at least one of the big things that I had wanted all year round. By the age of 7, I knew Santa Clause was not real. I figured that out because I asked for  a very expensive piano and I did not get it.  I was under the impression that if you were good all year long, then Santa would give you anything that you wanted. Actually, if you work hard all year long, and you save your money, then you are able to get what you want.

When I got into my teen years, I started seeking out a job in order for me to be able to get the things that I wanted. I started searching for jobs when I was 16 and didnt find a job until I was 19. Why did it take so long? That’s a whole other topic about my work ethic that I would have to talk about separately. My first job was at a cleaners in Jonesboro, GA. It was a very easy job in my opinion. I was getting paid under minimum wage and under the table for four hours five days a week.

I was a senior in High School at the time and while I was working, I started to realize that I had made a mistake. Why? Well, Events and club meetings were all after school, and I had to work an hour after I left school. So, as you can see, I had a problem. I had to choose over participating with my friends and having fun my senior year of high school, or work to get the money that I needed in order to pay for senior dues and college application and fees.

Like my mother, I chose to sacrifice fun in order to support myself. I think my first job fundamentally screwed me up and I think so because, I missed out on everything that everyone ever talked about being a senior in high school. I got to experience some things, but not all. I was so tired from work that the last thing I wanted to do was my homework, so my grades suffer tremendously.

Honestly, If it wasn’t for my senior math teacher, which I thought she hated me and probably do, I would have had a second senior year.

Fast forward to today.

I am a college graduate who is in a huge transitional period. Im not too hard on myself because Im only 22. But there are so many other people my age that are way better off then I am and no exactly where they are heading. Congrats to them but everyone is not like that and I had to learn that the hard way.

Your probably asking me, what does this have to do with the title of this post? Well Im getting there!

I believe that wealth is a level of comfortability. The way of life that all people would want to live. But there are so many different levels of wealth and money is not included in all of them. You can be living close to the poverty level like my family and still find the wealth that you desire. For my family, our wealth was God and the ability that were were able to pay our bills and keep a roof over our heads. At the time that was good enough for me. But now my personal goal of wealth has changed.

I want to live a way of life where my accomplishments gets me where I want to be. That with my hard work and dedication, I am able to afford the things in life that I have always wanted.

Im tired of working just to be able to afford to pay my bills. A prison of living paycheck to paycheck. I want financial security and financial stability.  I want to make a difference in the world and I also want to help out when I can to those who are in need.

Some people think that I have become a material person and sometimes I have to ask myself the same question. But when I ask myself, I remember that is not the material things that I want, its the comfort of living that I receive with such things. My heart and my character will always be the same. I will always stay grounded to who I am and that is a gentle and kind spirited soul who cares for and love everyone regardless.

I am creating this blog for you to follow my journey to create a life for me that I know that I deserve. I want this blog to serve as an inspiration to all of those out there who aspire to be a better person financially and spiritually.Wealth is a way of life and you must find out how you get to there. The road is not easy but, anything is possible when you put your mind to it.
